What to Expect When You Work with a Personal Stylist

When I tell people that I’m a Personal Stylist, I often get the same response. “Oh, that’s awesome. I totally need that!” And I always respond “Well, why don’t you try it?” Same response back, “I will when…” (fill in the blank with “when I lose 10 pounds,” “when I go back to work,” “when I have more money,” etc.).

Obviously, in my opinion, there’s never a bad time to work with a Personal Stylist. But, maybe it would help you decide to try it if you knew what to expect.

So, to give you a better understanding of what it’s like to work with me, I put together a summary of my most recent client experience. This particular client is an international motivational speaker who needed a wardrobe audit, as well as new on-stage wear.

Day 1

Fly to Denver and go directly to my client’s home to begin the wardrobe audit. I was fortunate that she had already done a “first pass,” however, we still cut her closet inventory in half! Then, we created a wish list and divided up what to donate and what can be consigned. (6 hours)

Day 2

We went to two different Nordstrom locations to find most items on our wish list (she had gift cards!) and made the day a double-point day. We still needed to order a pair of shoes that were available only online. (6 hours)

Day 3

We went to Nordstrom Rack to find some great deals on shoes and tops. We also hit Home Goods to find essentials to maximize space in her closet. Finally, we spent some time  shopping at Sherpani, a women’s travel and accessory store. (4 hours)

Day 4

The greatest day ever: the day we put it all together! Just adding a shoe rack made a huge difference in closet space. Now we can play with all the new clothes and see how to incorporate the pieces she already had. We put all summer wear/shoes in a storage bin under her bed. Once we had the outfits picked out, we organized the clothes by category – Athleisure, Stage Wear, Meeting Clothes and Date Outfits. Additionally, we organized her coat closet to eliminate two huge bins. (6 hours)

Four days, 22 hours and she’s done!

She achieved her goal of having a kick-a$$ closet with all the essentials and more. She now has all the pieces and the education needed to continue to stay true to her style and personal brand. In fact, the very next day, she was already sending me pictures of her favorite outfits and what she plans to wear tomorrow! You can read her full review on my Testimonials page.

This is truly the best part of my job.

The enthusiasm and gratitude from my clients is SO rewarding. And all it takes is a small investment of your time and money to achieve your wardrobe goals. So, what’s your excuse to not look and feel your best?

Book now and give yourself (or someone special) the perfect gift!
